Day 1. 1st of June 2019.

First post. Here we go. Currently on the Eurostar to Paris with C by my side. Mildred was late to the party (better late than never) and is chilling in coach F on her own- sounds quite nice to be honest.

Literally just going to just type this as my thoughts come, which are fast and random. Been making a few notes along the way, some more interesting than others but it’s our story none the less.

First train. Edinburgh to London.

So I’ve decided trains are definitely my favourite mode of transport. No intimidating security, so relaxing and I have the time to annoy you all and write this.

Trains having charger sockets are a god send.

Bit annoying having to take my antibiotics, 4 times a day, because of an infected toe but we go on.

I have the lightest bag out of the group – did you hear that mum?! This is the first time ever. I’ve either nailed it or left everything important at home. According to Millie it’s ‘definitely the snack bars’ that’s weighing her down.

Sorry friends, feel super cocky typing this and don’t know who I think I am, but living in the moment so this blog is probably the best place to find me and what I’m up to as can’t guarantee I’ll reply to yo lovely messages.

Mildred hopped on the train from her hometown Newcastle. The trio are reunited.

Classic I’ve be so buzzing all train journey I can’t sleep but 10 mins till we have to get off I’m exhausted. Still buzzing though.

We have arrived in London.

Walked the length of London to find a bin. Next time it’s C or Mildreds turn.

Never heard so many car horns in my life- London’s too loud but fun.

Got to find ANOTHER bin. Surely there is an app for this – Catherine going to make one. We are copyrighting this idea FYI.

Also learnt that Scottish tap water is something to be savoured.

Don’t know how to use a disposable camera, almost ripped the whole packaging off if it wasn’t for C and Mildred telling me I’m an idiot. First picture is definitely my thumb over the lense.

Nailed the timing- only 2 mins to wait till we can check in for the Eurostar to Paris. Interrailing is our calling.

Just glad Mildred got on the Eurostar to be honest, she had booked for the month earlier. Second times a charm.

Mildred has reminded me that tying your hair up, is the equivalent of getting your shit together.

Side note and warning it’s political. Why on earth is Brexit happening. How sad is the idea others may not be able to travel so easily to and from Europe. We’ve literally skipped a massive queue in passport control, just because we are EU citizens.

C and Mildred love wearing their bum bags not around their bums but over the shoulder-apparently more comfy. Yet to try, shall feedback.

So, after walking a while, bags are heavier than we thought, turns out the strap that ties around you waist is a life saver.

When picking somewhere to sit while waiting at station, honestly just pick somewhere and commit. You’re going to be in the way where ever you sit if it’s busy, deal with it.

C poses a good question- how do you get oxygen under water in the Eurostar. Please let us know the answer if you have it.

Heads up, definitely by food before coming on the train. It was €5 for a chocolate bar in the WHS through passport control so suddenly we were not hungry.

C enjoyed being called mademoiselle by the passport security guy.

I think french accents are very sexy.

C and Mildred are more polite than me, I have learnt I am quite impatient and it’s only day 1 – heck.

The Eurostar is a really civilised train- cool and classy like the 3 of us.

Also just dropped my retainer down the train seat and had a mini heart attack confirming it’s one of the most important items in my life. Don’t worry it has been recovered.

Also I’m actually loving this. Here’s hoping I can keep up my stamina of posts for the next 27 days. On that note, about to head through the tunnel and for C’s sake let’s hope we can breathe.

P.P.S I don’t know how to get rid of the cheesy photo at the bottom (if it’s even still there), it was nothing to do with me.
