The evening in Paris.

1/6/19- in Paris

Day 1 continued. I cannot stress enough how much this is just my word vomit.

Been noting down anything funny/ I want to share and then now currently in the hostel, chilling, reflecting over the good times. We are all in our Pyjamas. C’s writing her physical diary and to be honest not sure about mildred, she’s doing her own thing on her phone.

Here’s what I wrote from arriving in Paris:

The chiming of the Eurostar to say we have arrived is a lot nicer than jet 2 and being greeted by Jess Glynn.

I’ve made up so many situations in my head that haven’t even happened. That’s a lot of wasted energy and doesn’t let you appreciate them fully when you are experiencing them.

These posts will probably get more philosophical the more i go on and get more confident.

Hardest thing I did today was try open blister plasters- as Mildred said that’s a good thing if that’s the case. (Got an infected toe after tour just FYI, got antibiotics- all will be grand)

Just because your in France doesn’t mean there is snails and baguettes everywhere- it’s a normal city. Macodnalds, Burger King were the first sights.

Walk with confidence across the zebra crossings (look first obvs) – both you and the driver are as clueless as each other.

Except when it’s actually a red light- that’s universal turns out.

Also not sure where you ‘press the button’- not even sure if it’s a thing?

C talks about food a lot.

Mildred just wants shade. There is a reason all she always wears skirts, even in Glasgow.

Foreign affect- everyone looks so cool.

Wonder if we look like that in Glasgow.

Paris is VERY hot right now.

We have the loveliest hostel – le regent momatre

So pleasantly surprised

Feels clean and safe- literally all I care about.

We have our own shower and private room even though we booked for a group one- a nice way to easy us in.

Prague. Berlin. We wanna share with people.

oh also

We have our own shower and toilet – WITH TOWELS and shampoo and conditioner. Can save the travel towel for later.

The beds are also made up- bliss.

Moods are currently very high.

Can only think about what I want to wear when clean but I’m SO excited to be in a floaty dress and feel free.

I got top bunk and Mildred is bottom- i have an irrational fear the top with fall on the bottom.

Wearing flip flops and airing your feet- an underrated feeling.

C is the smelliest.

Divving up all the toiletries has been a god send.

My skin is annoying me

No concept of time it’s class

Can’t wait to get a tan

Mildred sounds really Geordie when she says back pack- sounds like she’s talking inwards.

We head for dinner after wandering for as long as possible before we collapse and take in the beaut sights. We decide to go to the first place we saw- classic.

Deep chats with Mildred and C, very wholesome and didn’t realise my respect and love for these girls could grow even more.

Quote from C – “Paris is nice when you actually see it’. She doesn’t wear her glasses a worrying amount of the time.

Often like to rate a place on its bathrooms- so they are a lot more liberal with men and women bathrooms here which is class and needs to be encouraged, but still need to get used to it from our more closed UK culture. Didn’t expect to walk into seeing a man using the urinal. New experiences.

Football gave the restaurant good a atmosphere.

Monzo is class, instant exchange rate and shows what you are spending. Have you got monzo? Good and bad, when you are on the student budget and trying to balance the whole ‘live life to the full’ with a bank account that doesn’t match up.

C doesn’t believe she’s beautiful and it’s really really annoying.

C is about to punch Mildred if she says ‘this is true’ one more time. Also just told her to ‘get to Spain’- it’s all fun and games and the spirits are high.

Tbf It’s fast becoming her quote of the holiday. I’m immune, doesn’t bother me and quite a lol watching C tell Mildred off.

C literally cannot see. I know I said before but wow. I’m not actually sure she knows she is inter-ailing with us.

€740 000 for an apartment in Paris, Mildred and I are keen to invest as an attempt to feel like we are Jodie comber from Killing Eve.

Liverpool won the champions league. Actually quite a few people out at the restaurant/bar we were at watching- good atmosphere.

Headed back to the room, an earlyish night for us after a long day of travelling. All decided we are not mentally ready to share a room yet with other humans- baby steps. Big talk of wanting a big room but it’s nice to settle first.

It’s lovely having no concept of time.

C is actually quite disgusting. She needs reminded of basic hygiene.

I have a lot of spots exploding but hoping some sun by the Seine is gonna clear the bad boys up.

It’s so fun seeing how other people live their lives- going to know each other so well by the end, maybe too well.

I realise I swear a lot for no reason.

Apparently charging your phone over night is bad for the battery. Life’s too short.

Bonne Nuit mes Amis.
